Marquerite “Jenny” Tillman Brake, 76, of Unionville, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Brake was a native of Nashville and a daughter of the late Johnny and Rosetta Rusher Tillman.
Survivors include daughters Mrs. Lynn Oxley Hall of Unionville; and Mrs. Teresa DiCicco of Brownstown, Michigan; sons Dewey Brake of Garden City, Michigan; Michael Brake of Unionville; and Eddie Brake of Unionville.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Brake was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Leverette who died earlier this year.

Charles Warner Sanford, 82, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Mr. Sanford was a native of Williamson County and was a retired farmer. He was a son of the late Lucille Warner Sanford and Granville T. Sanford, Sr. He was preceded in death by a son, James G. Sanford and by his brother, Thomas R. Sanford.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pauline J. Sanford of College Grove; sons Charles B. Sanford of Nolensville; and John W. Sanford of College Grove; daughter Karen L. Hatcher of the Flat Creek Community; brother Granville T. Sanford, Jr. of Nolensville; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mary Hall Lee, 91, of Eagleville died Thursday, December 23, 2004.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Vernon and Evie Lee Pate Hall. She was a member of the Eagleville Church of Christ and a Stanley Home Products unit manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Lee.
Survivors include daughter Gail Thomas of Nashville, brothers H.V. (Lottie) Hall of Eagleville and Bill (Alene) Hall of Shelbyville; sisters Anna Logue and Lola Carvalho, both of Murfreesboro, and Helen Brown of Oak Ridge; grandchildren Timothy Wayne Thomas, Tammy Lee Scott and Teresa Gail Smith; and great-grandchildren Joshua Benjamin Thomas, Lauren Denise Scott, Bethany Paige Smith and Emilee Nicole Scott.

Ronald Gentry Adams, 54, of Unionville died at his residence Thursday, December, 23, 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late James Elam and Gertrude Bell Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Julieta Reca'na Adams; son Jeffrey Adams of Murfreesboro; daughters Tammy Adams of Murfreesboro and Desiree' Blanks and son-in-law Rusty of Smyrna; sister Diane Gilbert and brother-in-law Ray of Cross Plains, Tennessee; grandchildren Ashley, Tiffany, Brittney, Austin and James.
Mr. Adams was a native of Rutherford County, but lived in Bedford County for the past three years. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

Mary Jane Neal Mullins, 68, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at Adams Place. A native of Nashville, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Elsie Rychen Neal.
She is survived by husband Charles Thomas Mullins Sr., who was a former minister of Kingwood Heights Church of Christ for 25 years and presently is minister of Eagleville Church of Christ; son and daughter-in-law Charles (Chuck) and Karen Mullins, of Murfreesboro; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Jeff Smiley, of Brentwood; sister Sue Pirtle and her husband Bill Pirtle, of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren Amy and Katie Mullins, of Murfreesboro, Murphy, Griffin and Brennan Smiley, of Brentwood.
She was a member of Kingwood Heights Church of Christ.
She was a graduate of Donelson High School and was a 1957 graduate of David Lipscomb University. She taught school in Nashville at Tom Joy and Una elementary schools, in Giles County and Charlotte, N.C.
She was a first-grade teacher at Middle Tennessee Christian School for 20 years before retirement in 1997.

Maude G. Reeves, 79, of the Jackson Ridge community, Rockvale, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at her residence. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late O. L. "Doc" and Sue Rieves Gee. She was preceded in death by brothers Lucas Gee and Jim Gee and a sister, Alma Gee.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Reeves, of Rockvale; sisters Frances Waller of Brentwood and Ola Boone, of Noblesville, Ind.; sister-in-law Elma Ruth McBee Gee, of Centerline, Mich.; nieces Becky Choate of Warren, Mich., Patricia Gillette of Orchard Lake, Mich., Vicki Copeland of Noblesville, Ind., nephews Bobby Gee of Hollidaysburg, Pa., Dwight Gee of Nashville and Brian Boone of Fresno, Calif.
A graduate of Rockvale High School and Draughon's Business College, she was retired from Federal Civil Service. She was a member of the former Jackson Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

A native of Milwaukee, Wis., she was the daughter of Gale and Sandi Raibolt Robbins, both of Rockvale. In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughter Rachel Christine Shores, of Murfreesboro; brother Michael and Katy Bonoho Robbins, of Smyrna; fiancé Stephen Simmons, of Murfreesboro; grandmothers Lillian Raibolt, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Isabelle Robbins, of Cincinnati, Ohio; several aunts and uncles.
She was an employee of Middle Tennessee Mats.

Thelma Herrod McElroy, 88, of Lascassas, died Saturday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Wylie David and Ruth Kane Craddock Herrod.
She is survived by daughters Patsy (Frank) Morris, of Lascassas, Judy (Pettus) Read, of Rockvale, and Sandra (Terry) Parks, of Murfreesboro; brothers John Herrod, of Murfreesboro, and Wylie Herrod, of Antioch; sisters Sara Davenport, of Lascassas, Ella Mae Mai, of Idaho; grandchildren Will Morris, Katie Parks, Shane Read, Nina Read and Meredith Parks; great-grandchild Avery Morris.
Mrs. McElroy was a member of the Lascassas Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Keele McElroy, who died in 1991.

She was the daughter of the late John Arthur and Grace Harris Smythia. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Toombs; brother Paschal Smythia; grandchild, Jessie Leo Duncan.
She is survived by a daughter, Grace (Larry) Duncan of Arrington; grandchild, Lynn (Ricky) Fann; great-grandchildren, Shannon and Josh Fann.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Lock’s Methodist Church.

Alice Lynch, age 60, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday evening, November 30, 2004, at her home after an extended illness.  Mrs. Lynch was a native of Bedford County and was a daughter of the late Hirm Edgar Lee and Mary Ella Davis Lynch. She was a homemaker and attended the El Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by sisters, Susie Mae Lynch and Viola Lynch and by brothers, Robert Edward Lynch and J.R. Lynch.

Annie King Woodson, 97, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at NHC Health Care.
A native of Unionville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Brandon and Myrtle Elizabeth Coursey King.
She is survived by grandson Larry Woodson, of Nashville; granddaughter Connie Buffington, of Dickson; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Woodson was a member of the Rockvale Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was married to the late Grady Woodson, Sr. Mrs. Woodson was retired from Middle Tennessee Medical Center and was a homemaker.

Katherine Vincion, 82, of Chapel Hill died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Franklin after an extended illness.
Mrs. Vincion was a native of Eagleville and a daughter of the late James T. and Cora Baird Herrod. She was retired from Jensen's Inc. and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.
Mrs. Vincion was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas Vincion, who died in 1975; a son, James R. Vincion, who died in 2003; and a granddaughter, Cristy Flye, who died in 1990.

Sophie Lowe, 87, of Nashville, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Home following an extended illness.
Miss Lowe was a native of Eagleville and a daughter of the late George Keeling and Flora Jackson Lowe. She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the WAVE Corps of the U.S. Navy. Miss Lowe was a retired social worker with the State of Tennessee and was a member of the Brookemeade Congregational Church, U.C.C., in Nashville.
She is survived by sisters Mrs. Mary Ellen Cannon, of Mt. Dora, Fla., and Mrs. Lillian Colby, of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church and was a teacher and a homemaker.

Peyton "Clark Kent" Williams, 1 month, of Murfreesboro died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004.
A native of Davidson County, he was the son of Ralph Williams Jr. and Cherrie Cardwell Williams.
He was preceded in death by his papaw, Ralph Williams Sr.; and his uncle, Ronnie Williams.

A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late George W. and Lillian Broyles Hicks.
He is survived by wife Anna Hicks; brother Granville (Patricia) Hicks, of Grosse Ile, Mich.; nephews Todd and Justin Hicks; faithful companion Heidi.
He was an insurance appraiser, a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a very loving husband, brother, uncle and big Teddy Bear to everyone and will be greatly missed.

She was a native of Davidson County and was a daughter of the late Johnny and Rosetta Rusher Tillman. She was a member of the Rover Baptist Church and a member of the Bedford County Senior Citizens. She retired after 25 years of service at Community School working as a food service technician.
She was preceded in death by husband Virgil O'Neal Leverette, who died in March of 2003; a son, Johnny Leverette, who died in June of 2003; and two great-grandsons: Darrin Leverette and Perry Woodruff.
She is survived by daughter Pam Hirt, of Shelbyville; sons Ronnie Leverette, of Murfreesboro, and Jason Leverette, of Unionville; daughter-in-law Wilma Leverette, of Unionville; sister Jenny Brake, of Unionville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Charles (Chuck) Ivie Burns Jr., 53, of Rockvale, died Thursday, October 7, 2004, at his home.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Charles Ivie and Patricia Dougherty Burns, of Rockvale. He is also survived by sisters Dixie Ivylyn Burns, Crystal Burns Leathers and Patricia Helen Johnson, all of Rockvale; grandmother Mrs. Mary Shell, of Rockvale.
Mr. Burns was a graduate of Rockvale High School and a truck driver.

Ralph Edward Williams, 47, of Rockvale, died Monday, October 4, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A native of West Virginia, he was the son of Ralph and Faye Williams, of West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by wife Anna Nall Williams; son Ralph Williams Jr., of Murfreesboro; brothers Bob Williams, of West Virginia, and Darrell Williams, of North Carolina; sister Ruth Williams, of West Virginia; five grandchildren.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Baptist church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a truck driver/owner. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Williams, who died Dec. 1, 1999.

Jessie B. Blanton, 80, of Unionville, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Mr. Blanton was a native of Bedford County and a son of the late Willie Houston and Mattie Ethlyn "Effie" Pressgrove Blanton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and the recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Mr. Blanton was a retired chief of the Shelbyville Police Department and also a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Holden Blanton, who died in 1999.
He is survived by daughter Mrs. Judy Stocstill, of Shelbyville; sons Randy Beasley Blanton, of Murfreesboro, and Jerry Wayne Blanton, of Unionville; brother Sammie L. Blanton, of Unionville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Duncan Smith, 90, died Monday, September 27, 2004, at Tennessee Veteran’s Home.
A native of the Salem Community, he was the son of the late Dr. Sidney B. & Lucy Currey Smith.
He is survived by wife Helen Tucker Smith; son Roger E. (Patty) Smith, of Murfreesboro; son Charles C. (Sherry) Smith, of Murfreesboro; sister Mary Eastman Baggenstoss, of Loudon, Tn; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by four brothers, Sidney, Jr., Austin, Roger and Leonard Smith; and four sisters Margaret Brandon, Currey Hollowell, Ruth Yeargan, and Lucia Muse.
He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the State of Tenn and a farmer. Mr. Smith served in the Tennessee State Legislature in 1950-51. He was a charter member of the Rutherford County Sportsman Club and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He attended MTSU.

J.W. Layhew, 66, of Rockvale, died Sunday, August 22, 2004, at St. Thomas Hospital.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Hershell and Addie Mae Pitts Layhew.
He is survived by sisters Edith Windrow, of Rockvale, and Gloria Burks, of Murfreesboro; brothers Elmer Layhew, of Murfreesboro, Walter Layhew, of Smyrna, and Melvin Layhew, of Rockvale.
Mr. Layhew was a member of the Rockvale Independent Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

Molly Vaughn, 90, of the Jackson Ridge community, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Murfreesboro after an extended illness. Mrs. Vaughn was a native of Rutherford County, a homemaker and was a daughter of the late William Henry and Cora Taylor Lynch. She attended the Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard Vaughn, who died in 1967; son Howard C. Vaughn; and granddaughter Rebecca Jewell.
She is survived by daughters Mary Mankin, Doris Schilling and Peggy Jewell, of Murfreesboro; sons James Vaughn and Billy Vaughn, both of Eagleville; sisters Frances Burnett, of Smyrna, and Dorothy Corbitt, of Donelson; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lee was a member of the Eagleville Church of Christ. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Roy and Ricks Lee.

Lana Mai Reeves Lamb, age 76, of Eagleville, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Franklin Manor in Franklin following an extended illness.
A native of Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Burley and Winnie Patton Reeves.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Leon Lamb, who died in 1999
She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Georgia Greasley of Eagleville and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Lamb was a homemaker.

Larry Urban Turner, 53, of Arcadia, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004 from injuries received in Hurricane Charley. He was a former resident of Eagleville. .
He is survived by his wife, Cathie Turner; sons Richard Turner of Eagleville and Paul Turner of Murfreesboro; granddaughter Emily Turner; his mother, Jeanne Turner of Eagleville; mother-in-law Vieva McCommon of Chattanooga; sister Linda Gannon of Eagleville; brother David Turner of Mt. Juliet; niece Amanda Perssico; and grand-nieces Ashlynn and Kendall Perssico, both of Auburntown.
It was the desire Mr. Turner to be cremated.
Mary E. Powell, age 95, of Eagleville, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004, in Nashville after an extended illness. Mrs. Powell was a native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert Neal and Bessie Wood Graves.
Preceded in death by her husband, Earlie James Powell, who died in 1998.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Ann Powell, of Eagleville.
Mrs. Powell was a retired seamstress and a homemaker.

Hughel “Doc” Willard, 83, of Eagleville, diedTuesday, Aug. 10, 2004.
A native of Cannon County, he was the son of the late William Burt and Nancy Mingle Willard.
He is survived by sisters Otha Miller, of Murfreesboro, and Thelma Redd, of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Willard was an Army veteran, having served during World War II, and a farmer.

Charlie Ervin Clark, 77, of Lewisburg died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. Mr. Clark was a native of Rutherford County and son of the late Joseph and Virginia Taylor Clark. He retired after 40 years as a spot welder with Inter-City Corp. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and attend the Primitive Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Rebecca Cannon Clark of Lewisburg; daughters Marie Clark Patterson and son-in-law Pat of Murfreesboro and Sherry Clark Park and son-in-law Dennis of Lewisburg; brothers Alfred Clark and Fay Clark, both of Rockvale, and Eugene Clark of Lewisburg; sisters Myrtle Chick of Brentwood, Gladys Rowland of Eagleville and Betty Alderdice of Lewisburg; and granddaughters Mallory Park of Lewisburg and McKinsey Patterson and Avery Patterson, both of Murfreesboro.

A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Savannah Rutledge Smith.

Russell Puckett, 96, of Eagleville, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, in Shelbyville following an extended illness.
Mr. Puckett was a native of Bedford County and was the son of the late Charlie Caswell and Elizabeth Arnold Puckett. He was an aviator, serving in the United States Army during world War II. He was a retired president of the Bank of Eagleville, former owner of the Puckett Grocery Stores, former manager of Jackson Heights Shopping Center in Murfreesboro and an avid pilot. After retiring he was the owner and operator of Puckett Field in the Rover community. He was a member of the Rover Baptist Church.
Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Ferguson, who died in 1985.

Tommy Morton, 70, died Friday, July 16, 2004 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A native of the Barfield Community, he was the son of the late Minus and Myrtle Williams Brown. He was a member of the Barfield Baptist Church, a former employee of Sears and Rich Products and a retired farmer.

Norman Hughlan Sullivan, 80, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Community Care of Rutherford County.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Williamson County, son of the late Norman Allen and Mona Louella Stinson Sullivan, and made his home in Christiana. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated Vine Street New and Used Furniture Store in Murfreesboro for 24 1/2 years and retired in 1999. Linda Marie Marable, 64 of Eagleville died Thursday, June 17, 2004.
She was born at her home in Eagleville on January 26, 1940, after and ice storm and 19° below zero. Said to be the coldest day in Tennessee.
Linda was the daughter of the late George Champion (GC) Marable, Jr. and the late Ruby Doris Snow Marable.
She was preceding in death by a brother, Ronald Aubrey Marable.
Miss Marable is survived by a sister Mary Joe Marable Bryan of Rockvale; nieces and nephews Michael Champion Marable of Orange, TX, Jonathan Rett Bryan of Arrington, Amy Marie Murphy of Rockvale and Melinda Marable Spence of Chattanooga; great-nephews and nieces Drew and Dallas Marable of Orange, Texas, Gracie Jo-ning Bryan of Arrington and Hunter Murphy of Rockvale.
She was a member of Jenkins Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Nolensville and a member of the Charity Sunday School Class. A graduate and retired administrator and from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor of science in home economics in 1962 and a master of vocational technical education with a major in food service in 1987. She was employed by the National Dairy Council, a nutrition education trade association of the dairy industry from 1962 to 1975. She worked in Bristol, Tn and Louisville, Ky. In Chicago, she worked as an administrator of field services for offices in 50 states and traveled to all of the states except Alaska and Maine. She was director of marketing for refrigerated products from 1975 to 1986 for the Pet Incorporation in Johnson City, Tn. She spent 1986 to 1987 as a student. She was employed by Rutherford County Activity Center as a job trainer of handicapped adults from 1988 to 1989 and again from 1989 to 2002. She worked as a vocational education grant administrator for Middle Tennessee State University.

Sam Cox Farris, 79, of Rockvale died Thursday, April 23, 2004 at Baptist Hospital.
A native of Rockvale, Mr. Farris was the son of the late DeWitt Hopkins Sr. and Nettie Woodson Farris. He was a member of the Eagleville Baptist Church as a deacon for more than 50 years. He was the fourth generation owner of Farris Lumber Company for 44 years out of 188 years of service; a former director of the Eagleville Bank; veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army; a charter member of the Rockvale Ruritan Club; and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and community leader.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Betty Jane Farris, and seven brothers.

A native of Eagleville, she was the daughter of the late Walker and Susie Morgan Carlton.
She is survived by husband Woodrow Luttrell; son and daughter-in-law Joe Luttrell and Wanda Webb, of Brentwood; daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and Gayle Crowe, of Lafayette, Ind., and Patsy Luttrell, of Madison, Wis.; two grandchildren: Darren M. Crowe and Lauren Crowe Cunningham; one great-granddaughter: Claire Morgan Cunningham.
Mrs. Luttrell was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ and was a 1935 graduate of Eagleville High School. She earned her B.S. degree from MTSU in 1939. She was a 4-H Club agent in Giles County and a 20-year teacher in Illinois. From 1947 until 1949 her husband Woodrow Luttrell served as 4-H Club agent for the boys and later was Rutherford County Agricultural agent and assistant to the president of the Tennessee Farm Bureau in Columbia and a staff member of the American Farm Bureau in Chicago.

Johnnie B. Potter, 91, of Rockvale died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in Smyrna after an extended illness. Mrs. Potter was a native of Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Hessie Thomas and Lera Redmond Bennett. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Edward Potter.

A native of Rutherford County, Mrs. Willard was the daughter of the late Adam Frank and Harriet Parker Bragg. She was a devoted homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiseman Willard, sons James Willard and Frank Willard and granddaughter Crystal Joy Willard.
Survivors include daughters Emogene Bellenfant of Murfreesboro, Pat Barkve of Tullahoma and Margie Robinson of Rockvale; sons Aubrey Willard of Murfreesboro, Sammie Willard of Smyrna and Wendell Willard of Rockvale; sister Pauline Stem; brother-in-law Truman Robinson; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Odie L. Anderson, 69, of Arrington died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at his residence.
Elder Anderson was a native of Williamson County and the leader of White Chapel and St. Peter Primitive Baptist churches.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Candis Anderson; children, Herbert Lee Anderson, Della Mai Anderson, Frank (Vickie) Anderson, Rodney (Mary) Anderson, Juanita (Mark) Anderson, Regina (Joe) Thompson, Odie N. (Renee), Angila Anderson and Edna Dobson; sister, Annie (Houston) Norris; brothers, the Rev. Edward (Sheila) Anderson, Jessie (Mary) Anderson, Wesley (Sue) Anderson and Richard (Ethel Mai) Anderson; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; devoted aunt, Annie Laura Lavender-Haley; play daughter, Janice Norris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jim Richard Anderson Sr., 66, of Murfreesboro, who died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Health Care Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. John R. Parton will officiate.
A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Roy C. and Ola Burnett Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonia Dean Anderson, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by son Jim Anderson of Eagleville, daughters Terrie Pitts of Bell Buckle and Sherrie Sadler of Murfreesboro, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a salesman for State Farm Insurance Co. and attended the Church of Christ.

Jean Coakley Pierce, 59, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004.
A native of Fulton, N.Y., she was the daughter of Alice White Coakley, of Fulton, N.Y., and the late John Henry Coakley.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by husband Albert K. Pierce; son Kip A. Pierce, of Rockvale; daughter and son-in-law Heidi J. and Allen Agnew, of Murfreesboro; daughter-in-law Risa M. Pierce, of Binghamton, N.Y.; brothers Edward Coakley, of Fulton, N.Y., and James Coakley, of Webster, N.Y.; grandchildren Garrett K. Pierce, Corbett J. Pierce, Erica Kelly Agnew, Amanda Jean Agnew and Anna Louise Agnew.
Mrs. Pierce was a member of the State Street Methodist Church and attended First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Pierce was a member and past president of the Fulton Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.

Steve Hopkins Lindell, 70, of Murfreesboro died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at his residence.
A native of Ackaman, Miss., Mr. Lindell was retired as owner and manager of Liddell Insurance and a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in the Korean conflict. He was the son of the late Oscar B. and Mary Ada Blain Liddell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavodice Frances Liddell.
Survivors include daughters Stevie Liddell of Wartrace and Holly Liddell of Unionville and brothers John Liddell of Louisville, Ky., and Oscar B. ‘Dick” Liddell of Columbiana, Ala.

Oscar Calvin Jordan,
79, of Rockvale died, Tuesday Feb. 3, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife Frankie Jordan; his sons Fred Jordan, James (Patricia) Jordan, Nathaniel (Viola) Jordan, Anthony Jordan, Carl Yeargins; daughters Marjorie Jordan, Priscilla Jordan, April (Alex) Jordan-Ewing and Katherine (Tony) Fulton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also has two living brothers: John (Clatie) Jordan and William (Willie Mae) Jordan and a sister: Ola B. Rucker.
He was the son of the late Sam Wyatt and Jennie Williamson Jordan.

James E. (Jimmy) Brandon, 57, passed away Saturday Jan. 31, 2004, following a sudden illness.
He was the son of the late Paul Brandon & late Lurene Burks Brandon.
Mr. Brandon is survived by his wife, Sandy Bryson Brandon of Woodbury; two daughters & sons-in-law, Jamie Brandon Hudson & James of Carthage and Amy Brandon Hudson & Kyle of Rockvale; one brother and sister-in-law, Randy & Sandra Brandon of Woodbury; three grandsons, Dillon Hudson, Nicholas Hudson and Jacob Watson; and two nieces, Darci Brandon and Candy Jones Bryant.
He was a member of the Burt Baptist Church, where he was Church Moderator and a member of the deacon body, a veteran of Vietnam serving in the Army, an Assistant Vice President of 1st National Bank and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

Woodrow ‘Mutt’ Rooker, 87, of Eagleville died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in Murfreesboro.
A native of Des Arc, Ark., Mr. Rooker was the son of the late Elmer D. and Ruth Alford Rooker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member and deacon of the Eagleville Baptist Church and was retired from the Avco Corp. in Nashville after 29 years of service.
He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell, Jeff, Jimmie, Bill and Fred Rooker.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Rooker of Eagleville; daughter Connie Rooker of Eagleville; sons and daughters-in-law Don and Janie Rooker of Eagleville and Ray and Debbie Rooker of Murfreesboro; sisters Ayleene Camp of Orlando, Fla., and Xemenia Martin of Lascassas; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law Donna and Jim Ralston of St. Augustine, Fla., and Brandi and David Goin of Woodbury; and great-grandchildren Ashton Jones, Bailey Goin and Cameron Goin.

Ishmeal Eugene Flippo, 78, of Bell Buckle, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at his home.
A native of Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Alex and Rosa Woodall Flippo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Flippo.
He is survived by daughters Priscilla Lehman of Spartanburg, S.C., and Brenda Gowins of Midland-Fosterville; son Jackie Flippo of Murfreesboro; brothers Belton Flippo and Bud Flippo, both of Longview; sister Sadie Jones of Unionville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Flippo was retired from the Murfreesboro Water Department and a member of the Baptist church.

James Samuel Read, age 86, of Unionville, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, in Franklin.
Elder Read was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Basil Dewitt and Fannie Ruth Heath Read. He was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation and a retired Primitive Baptist Minister.
Elder Read was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. May Read, who died in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Gatlin Read, Unionville, Tenn.; daughters, Laura Ruth Smith, of Unionville, Tenn., and Sandra R. Gillespie, of Memphis, Tenn.; son, James (Dee) Read, of Cortlanda, Ill.; brother, Harold Wayne Read, of Montgomery, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Lorene Puckett Brown, 83, of Rockvale died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Willie and Maggie Holden Puckett.
She attended Middle Tennessee State University and retired from Palmer Produce as a bookkeeper. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, E. J. Puckett and Herman Puckett.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, James A. Brown of Rockvale.

Thelma Sims Comer, 92, of Murfreesboro died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at MTMC.
A native of Christiana, Mrs. Comer was the daughter of the late Jordan D. and Pauline Powell Sims. She was a retired teacher with the Rutherford County School System and also worked in special education in Davidson County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was married to the late Robert Reed Comer and also was preceded in death by daughter Caroline Comer Wells and sister Janice Jennings.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Polly Comer and James Seth Tidwell of Rockvale; grandchildren, Connie Gladden, Jimmy Tidwell, James and Amy Wells, Jamie and Phillip Robertson and Donna and Joe Morris; great-grandchildren Connor and Caroline Gladden, Molly and Emily Wells, McKenzie and Katie Robertson and Zachary and Leslie Morris; brother-in-law Paul S. Jennings of Christiana; nephew Paul E. and his wife Suzanne Jennings of Christiana.

Harry M. Patillo, 85, of Eagleville, died Tuesday Jan. 13, 2004, at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield.
A native of Murfreesboro, he was the son of the late Thomas and Dora Dill Patillo.
He is survived by daughter Charlotte (Jim) Gray, of Springfield; and son John Patillo, of Eagleville; and grandchildren Deborah Gray, Michael (Rachel) Gray and Johnathan Gray.
Mr. Patillo was preceded in death by his wife, Lilliam Webb Patillo, who died in 1994. He was a member of the Eagleville Church of Christ. Mr. Patillo began first grade at MTSU, then called the Normal School, moved to Central High School, then called the Training School, and then on to Smyrna High, where he graduated in 1934. After serving in the Air Force in World War II in the chemical warfare division between 1942 and 1946, he was discharged, having attained the rank of sergeant.
He was postmaster of the Eagleville post office for 35 years. Mr. Patillo said the biggest changes in the postal system were the zip codes. During the last 10 years before his retirement, he became a training officer and was sent all over Tennessee, giving instructions to new postmasters in the area. After retirement, Mr. Patillo spent many hours working on his farm and raising black angus cattle. He was an active member of the Eagleville Lions Club and he was the only active charter member.

Hailey Rain Faircloth-Shutes, infant, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004. She was the daughter of James Richard Shutes and Ashley Noel Faircloth, both of Smyrna.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents Dorris and Phylis Faircloth, both of Murfreesboro, Michael “Bo” and Regina Jacobs, both of Unionville, and Richard M. Shutes, of Texas; great-grandparents Florence Strickland Hammock, of Smyrna, Ga., and Wilfred J. LaFrance, of Unionville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mildred Yvonne Gordon, 55, of Woodbury died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, after an extended illness.
A native of Shelbyville, Mrs. Gordon was the daughter of Ruby and Herlie Gilbert Parsons of Unionville. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother.
She was preceded in death by her son, Clinton Graham Gordon.
Survivors include her parents; her husband, Charles Gordon Jr.; daughter Robin Yvette Baker of Unionville; brother Derrel (Brenda) Parsons of Shelbyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William Roy Trail, 58, of Allen Avenue in Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Earl Dayton and Audie Mae Brown Trail.
He is survived by wife Maggie King Trail; son Garry Whitley, of Murfreesboro; daughters Tammy Adams, of Auburntown, and Rita Ladd, of Rockvale; brother Billy Trail, of Murfreesboro; sisters Earlene Bush, of Murfreesboro, and Flora Mae Messick, of Shelbyville; grandchildren Danah Whitley, Ashley and Daniel Ladd, B.J. and Brianna Adams.
Mr. Trail attended Woodbury Road Baptist Church and was founder and owner of R & M Surplus Sales.

Billy Lehn Tipton, 59, met his Lord Sunday Jan. 4 after a long history of complications with juvenile diabetes. He was the son of late Joe Max and Addie Deakle Tipton of Mobile, Ala.
He is survived by his wife Paula, of Murfreesboro; three daughters: Cassie, of Little Rock, Ark., Jennifer (Steve) Tittel, of Misawa, Japan, and Mary, of Murfreesboro; son Paul of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and grandson John Samuel Tittel. He is also survived by two sisters, Pamela Moak, of Alabama, and Angela (Rick) Jeffers, of Georgia; and brother, James O. Tipton, of Connecticut, and nieces and nephews.
He had been employed by the Murfreesboro Police Department for the past six years.

Robert Corey Ford, 22, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2003, in Hickman County.
Mr. Ford was born in Williamson County and made his home in Hickman County, where he was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his father, Ronnie Ford of Delton, Mich.; his mother, Phyllis White Ford of Lyles; a daughter, Angelique Corner of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three brothers, Jarett Ford and Michael Ford, both of Delton, and Jessie Ford of Rapid City, S.D.; a sister, Stephanie Ford of Rapid City; his maternal grandparents, Sarah and Gilbert Newell of College Grove and John and Betty White of Franklin; and his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Dorothy Ford of Brentwood.

Catrina S. Davis, 25, died January 2, 2004,  and was a resident of Nashville.
She is survived by her son Chandler Tashawn Davis; mother Mary D. Davis, of Rockvale; father Harry (LeVette) Ransom, of Eagleville; sisters Kimberly Ranson and Katria Howes, both of Murfreesboro; brothers Kevin Davis, of Rockvale, Michael Davis, of Nashville, and Jimmy Ransom, of Murfreesboro; grandmother Mary B. Davis, of Murfreesboro, and other relatives and friends.

Dorothy Gryner, 73, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
A native of Wynnburg, Tenn., Mrs. Gryner was a member of the Church of Christ and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was the daughter of the late James Alton and Lola Mae Burress Dyer. She also was preceded in death by brothers Cecil, William and Walter Lawrence Dyer and a sister, Eula May Dyer.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Gryner Sr. of Murfreesboro; daughter Deb Hensel of Arrington, Tenn.; son Charles Edward Gryner Jr. of Detroit; sisters Virginia Ruth Hayes of Erin and Eula Bell Smith of Florida; brothers, Preston Dyer of Florida, James Dyer of Dyersburg and Daniel Dyer of Tiptonville; and grandchildren Caitlyn Rae Hensel, Courtney Renee Hensel and Caleb Ross Hensel

Louise Lanier Alexander, 100, of the Allisona Community of Williamson County died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Nashville.
Mrs. Alexander was a native of Williamson County, a daughter of the late William Corlette and Cornelia Elizabeth Lochridge Lanier. She was a retired dietitian and lifelong member of College Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Brown Alexander, who died in 1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Cornelia A. Elmore of Eagleville; a son, Owen Lee Alexander of Old Hickory; two grandchildren, Leanne (Brent) Savage of Cypress, Texas, and Keith (Linda) Elmore of Beech Grove; and five great-grandchildren.
